Fellowship Information and Requirements
The Latino Health Fellowship Initiative at Hunter College seeks to provide one to two MPH fellowships per year to increase representation of Latinos in the US public health work force, particularly early career professionals who are committed to addressing the health disparities confronted by a growing Latino population in the US Fellows will receive tuition support up to a maximum of 48 credits as required for the Masters of Public Health (MPH) at the Hunter College Urban Public Health Program. Latino heritage will be considered among other eligibility criteria, including:
- Acceptance to the Hunter College Masters Program in Urban Public Health
- Early-career professionals with at least two-years of previous work experience with Latino communities in the US and/or a country with a large influx of Latino immigrants to the US
- Commitment to working with Latino populations following completion of the degree
- Conversant in Spanish
- Have applied for Financial Aid (consideration is given to financial need)
Description of Hunter College’s Urban Public Health Program
The Hunter College Program in Urban Public Health, created September 1998, is fully accredited by CEPH (Council for Education in Public Health). The department confers MPH, MS and BS degrees through three track specializations: Community Health Education (COMHE), Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (EOHS), and Nutrition and Food Sciences.
