Based at the CUNY School of Public Health at Hunter College, the Latino Health Fellowship Initiative (LHFI) is currently being developed. Ultimately, it will seek to reduce health disparities affecting the Latino community in the US by advancing research, informing relevant policies, and supporting the next generation of Latino public health professionals.
To achieve this goal, LHFI will:
Provide research assistant positions to CUNY School of Public Health Masters of Public Health (MPH) students who are interested in working on issues related to Latino health;
Engage the public and academic community through events and workshops to promote Latino health issues;
Collaborate with partnering organizations on research and policy initiatives to advance Latino health equity; and,
Connect graduate students to Latino health-focused research and fieldwork opportunities.
